CIBO Technologies Custom HubSpot Platform

An AgTech company serving farmers, enterprise clients, and agricultural consultants — three distinct audiences with different needs, different language, and different reasons to care. The existing platform couldn't handle the complexity. Content was difficult to find, the CRM was disconnected, and the site couldn't keep pace with the company's position as a category leader.

Working Model, contracted through US agency Go-Yamamoto, led the development of a custom HubSpot platform built to handle all of it — multiple audiences, deep content filtering, and direct CRM integration that fed every user interaction back to the sales team in real time.

Key Challenges & Strategic Objectives

  1. HubSpot Customization: The standard HubSpot theme was insufficient. The primary challenge was developing a 100% custom HubSpot theme that met the high visual fidelity and complex functionality requirements while adhering to HubSpot's module and hub-language structure.
  2. Content Discovery: CIBO's content was diverse. The platform needed a solution for users to quickly filter and find highly specific content relevant to their segment, bypassing the limitations of standard HubSpot navigation.
  3. CRM Integration: Ensure all user interactions, particularly lead capture and content consumption data, seamlessly and accurately fed directly back into the HubSpot CRM for sales and marketing automation.

Technical Solution & Development

The project focused on leveraging HubSpot's powerful platform capabilities while providing custom-coded solutions for advanced front-end requirements.

1. Custom HubSpot Template Development

  • Platform: HubSpot CMS.
  • Development Lead: Led the entire development process, translating agency designs and strategic requirements into functional HubSpot code.
  • Custom Modules: Built numerous custom HubSpot modules to give the marketing team granular control over the content and layout of pages without needing developer intervention.

2. Advanced Navigation and Filtering

  • Custom Mega Navigation: Developed a bespoke mega navigation system. This allowed for complex, multi-tiered content hierarchy, providing immediate access to key product lines, resources, and audience-specific pages, which is difficult to achieve with standard HubSpot menus.
  • Custom Content Filtering: Implemented a sophisticated custom filtering system for resource libraries and blog content. This involved using custom HubL and JavaScript to allow users to filter content based on multiple criteria (e.g., solution type, audience, resource format) dynamically on the front end, far exceeding the native filtering capabilities of HubSpot.

3. CRM Data Synchronization

  • Integrated CRM: The entire platform was tied back to the CIBO HubSpot CRM. Every lead capture form, content download, and behavioral interaction on the site was configured to feed directly into the appropriate contact record.
  • Lead Scoring: Ensured the custom filtering and resource consumption data could be used as triggers for lead scoring, providing the sales team with immediate, high-quality intelligence on prospect interests.
